Designer Lust List: The Pink Edition

Every now and then, I find myself browsing the online designer rails, which usually ends in a basket of items, accumulating to a rather large sum of money.  Lately I've been lusting after the colour pink (more than usual).  Here are a few of the things I've been drooling over lately.

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

1. DVF Mini Harper Bag; £224 - When I originally saw this bag for the first time, I knew I needed it in my possession.  It's the perfect size to take out in the evenings on Holiday and just out and about.  This would be the statement piece of your outfit, so something simple would be ideal.

2.  Marc by Marc Jacobs Glitter Mouse Pumps; £228 - I've known about these shoes for a while, and as much as I'd like the black pair to ensure I'd wear them, there is something about these pink glittered pumps with fuchsia and rose gold detailing.  Again another statement piece, perfect for a night out if your feet can't quite hack the five inch heels for another evening.

3. Vivienne Westwood Tiny Metal Orb Pendant; £60 - Not pink, but would go lovely over a pink cami or dress.  The orb is becoming iconic of Viv these days.

4. Alexander McQueen Enamelled Skull Bracelet; £150 - A sweet little bangle to wear alone or mix with a gold watch and a few other pastel bracelets.  The skulls toughen up the pretty and prim blush enamel.

5. Preen Hutchinson Cutout Wool-Blend Jacket; £1,025 - Definitely an investment piece that would require a mortgage of it's very own.  Something about bright, neon pink, blazers has caught my attention lately.  Pair with a LBD, clutch and heels for a night out or a shirt and tailored trousers for eye catching office attire.

Do you ever find yourself lusting after Designer goods?

A Right Royal Souvenir.

If you have ever been to a big white wedding, you'll know your typical souvenirs are the sugar coated almonds, in a pretty little bag or (if you're the psycho 'I will be the bride not always the bridesmaid' type) the Brides bouquet.

An amusing evening of flicking through Vogue.com, showed me the many a souvenir you can buy to commemorate the Royal Wedding.  Don't get me wrong, I am slightly excited about it (i'm a sucker for a wedding and, indeed, a romance) but do we really need a 'Barbie' doll Kate?  Yes you heard me.  A doll.

I guess they are banking on the girls who couldn't get the 'engagement' dress in shops and would therefore purchase a doll to remind them of how elegant she looked.  At a non festive $195 I do think they are going overboard...

You can also buy many other items...

Even children retailers are getting involved.  I have to admit this is pretty sweet and my nearly two year old niece would probably love this... £15

Of course, you get the extremely stupid and then you get the 'okay that could look kinda cool'.

These pumps are pretty cute and remind me of Vivienne Westwood's Prince Charming stuff.  You can get them on the day for £98

When I first saw this I thought, Vogue.com have you gone mad?  I then realised it said 'Kate' and 'Will' on it.  I think it's quite a nice idea to get the younger generation involved.  This comes in at £25 from Selfridges.

And here are some humorous ones I saw...

£17; John Lewis

£29.95; www.notonthehighstreet.com

£30; Harvey Nichols (don't worry this includes afternoon tea too...)

Will you be buying into the wedding?  I think I'll just stick to my special Royal Wedding edition of Vogue, after all I'm only a student, not a princess.

Rudolph wasn't the only one with a red nose, you know.

So, you'll probably be aware that our Viv has designed a range of T-Shirts with for TK Maxx (TG Maxx for you Americans) in aid of Comic Relief.  My mother must have read my mind whilst I was sitting on the checkout at Tesco today as she went to TK Maxx and bought me one.  She got me the unisex tee sported by the gorgeous Sienna Miller in the picture above (it's also the most sought after - my fashion skills are rubbing off!).  I will definitely be sporting this friday, tucked into a bodycon  skirt and my chunky knit boyfriend cardi.

Here is another picture from the photo shoot with Sienna, which I thought was gorgeous.

Here are the promo pictures sporting some of the supporting celebrities.

Are you doing anything to raise money for Comic Relief?
Check back Friday for an outfit post with the tee.

It's the end of a busy week and I am lucky enough to have tomorrow off work, so I feel a lie in is only appropriate.  Today marks the beginning of London Fashion Week, so to all of my fellow Brits - happy fashion week!

We began our Interviewing unit today at university and I learnt a number of valuable lessons:
1. Do not piss off the interviewee - they may well just walk on you.
2. As crazy as this sounds, according to my lecturer, no fashion journalist wants to interview Vivienne Westwood.  She rants for 20 minutes about something completely irrelevant to the question.

In other events, Vogue.com put up their best dressed for NYFW, including Marc Jacobs.  I have a huge crush on that man, I wish he were straight.

How are you spending the weekend?

Brit revealing?

The Brit awards may be a huge annual music even, but they certainly caused a stir in the fashion world.  The girls were out in force last night, Cheryl donned a leggy Stella McCartney number whilst Rihanna changed four times, including both costume changes and Jessie J just about covered her body in Vivienne Westwood.

Cheryl in Stella.

Rihanna began a performance in Giles, which I loved, it reminded me of a Mert & Marcus photograph.  She then went on to strip down to a sequinned body suit, which to me felt like a big F U to Radio 1 for banning her new single, S&M.

Riri wearing Giles.

Jessie J wasn't the only girl sporting Viv.  Katherine Jenkins and Paloma Faith also wore dresses designed by Westwood, who designed this years Brit trophy.

Did you guys catch the awards? What did you think of the frocks?

I apologise for the lack of blogging today, I've been a busy bee.  I had my Weekly Wrinkle internship trial today, which was originally yesterday but we had to reschedule.  It went extremely well and I'm feeling good about it, I was pretty much told I got the internship, but still you never know!  Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me lovelies!

Theres to be a Royal Wedding!

The news broke this morning that Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged to be married, something that has been long awaited by the British nation.  Although the news has brought a great amount of joy throughout the day, there has also been a lot of speculation as to what dress Kate will don on the day.

There are many options available for the bride-to-be, but with her fashion forward mind, there has been speculation to whether she will go for a Vivienne Westwood to a Stella McCartney garment.  Time will tell, and I wish a happy and successful marriage to both, even if I was supposed to marry him.
