Hurrah for H&M online!

Fashionistas everywhere were waiting for the day that the slightly-more-expensive-than-primark-slightly-less-expensive-than-topshop (try say that in a one, it's like not chewing a fruit pastille - aint gonna' happen) H&M graced the online world.  That it did last year, only to thoroughly disappoint with it's shoddy look and the non existent clothes, not to mention crappy delivery times.   Negatives aside, this morning I awoke with an email from the shop - a new website has been launched and girls, there's more than 10 items per category.  

I've been on the site today and it has a far friendly interface (posh word there Nicola) and a better appeal that sites like Topshop and ASOS already have in the bag.  They have included photo shoots of the clothes rather than just a girl wearing the garment and it just looks 100% better.  Naturally, I looked through and found some favourites...

Oh, how gorgeous are these?  A great everyday shoe that I can see myself wearing down to the sole.  These would look great paired with a chiffon shirt dress (I will find you in Primark one day!) or with jeans and a top for a more casual approach.

A great sundress with a great print!  It's a little bohemian so why not pair with a crocheted waistcoat?

I saw this dress instore the other day and fell in love.  Can anyone hazard a guess as to why?  Online they also have it in yellow (see below), which I really like too - and for £7.99 who can grumble?

This is a cute slouched top, great with a bikini, vintage Levi's and some espadrilles for a really comfortable beach outfit.

Yes, you guessed it right, todays outfit of the day will feature that pretty blue Kimono which I just can't get enough off.  

The weather is gorgeous today so the sunnies will be out for an airing.  I'm surprised I didn't get a tan this morning on my driving lesson, the sun was beating down on the window.

I always seem surprised at how light my hair is, I always think it's darker than it really is.  I'm off to uni now but i'm getting paid to do so, no my lecturers aren't desperate to get us in.  I've got some student ambassador training to do and at £8.11 p/h why on earth not?

I am completely and utterly besotted with my new chiffon shirt, the colour sold me.  I felt like something out of Saturday Night Fever today (insert relevant Bee Gees song here).  I also decided I'd go with big curls for the day, but they soon fell out once I stepped outside.  

Happy Belated Birthday to Me!

To begin, I'd like to apologise for the lack of blogging, but as the title suggests, it was my birthday yesterday!  I had a really good day shopping with my best friend and a rather cracking evening with many friends, including vodka.  Needless to say, i'm suffering horrifically today so I thought I'd share my presents and also what I bought with some of my birthday money.  

I got two new Links charms to add to my sweetie bracelet - the strawberry and a four leaf clover.  Thanks to my mummy and daddy for these!

My brother and my sister in law bought me a £40 Topshop gift voucher, here is what I bought:

Pink spotty scallop trim vest

I really like the trim to this top and thought the colour was superb for this seasons colour trend.  

Blue vest top

I liked this as it had a worn feel about it, the dark blue embellishments look like bobbles you'd get on worn clothes.  

Peter pan collar spotted tunic

I abosolutely loved this when I first saw it online, so I was really pleased that they still had it in the shops yesterday! 

We then moved onto New Look, which has a lovely S/S range this year! 

Electric blue chiffon shirt

When I saw this I knew I needed to buy it.  I will most likely wear with a long top, tights and brogues.  I love the gold buttons, they really stand out against this gorgeous colour.  

Chunky cable knit boyfriend cardi

I wanted something to wear with the Topshop tunic and this will go perfectly.  Its lovely and chunky, so it will definitely keep me warm!

After New Look we went to H&M, Superdrug and Boots.  

I picked up this vest dress for £7.99, (bargain!) it will be perfect under the blue chiffon shirt or the pink crop top I bought, as well as many other items I own.  

In Superdrug I bought the GOSH Brow palette and my best friend picked up Rimmel nail varnishes which were 3 for 2 and got me the Apricot punch colour.  We then went onto Boots where I finally got hold of a blending brush - it was £6.45 compared to MACs 217 which is £15 and works just as well!  I also bought a Chanel Varnish on eBay which came this morning, in the infamous Rouge Noir.

That's about all I spent yesterday, I still have some birthday money left over which will go towards my trip to the vintage fair tomorrow.  Look out for the blog post for pictures and information, tomorrow evening.

Lanvin for H&M Proves to be a Smash Hit

Today saw the universal launch of H&M's latest collaboration collection with Lanvin. Flagship stores all over the world had queues for miles formed of fashion lovers desperate to get their hands on the new collection.  Alber Elbaz said he wanted to bring luxury to the high street in a press release for H&M and that he did.


The collection is now completely sold out and proves once again that H&M high end fashion collaborations are a smash hit.

Lanvin To Reveal H&M Collection This Coming Week

Top high-street brand H&M announced earlier this year that they would be collaborating with fashion designer Lanvin, for A/W 2010.  November 2^nd see’s the official, highly anticipated, reveal of the collaboration, just three weeks before the collection launch. 

Fans of previous H&M collaborations from the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and Comme des Garcons will be able to see the reveal through a special film shown on www.hm.com.  It will give the customers a taste of what they can expect in stores in three weeks time. 

The Lanvin for H&M collection is being designed by artistic director Alber Elbaz, who in the past has turned down mass-market projects. “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate a dream we created in Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less.  What intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.” 

Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor for H&M stated that the company were “thrilled” about the upcoming collection.  “Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful.  The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful suprises.”
