New In: Fashion & Beauty Haul

I've been doing a spot of shopping here and there for the past couple of weeks so thought I'd show you what I picked up.  I always find haul posts a bit long so I've done mine slightly different this time.  If you like the new layout, let me know down below (poet but didn't know it comes to mind...)

1. There comes a time (or maybe more in my case) in a girls life when you stumble upon the most gorgeous bag and pretty much know you need it in your life.  Walking around M&S, of all places, whilst my mum shopped for her holiday, I spied this beauty. It's a medium sized, leather structured bowler bag and is the perfect sized everyday bag.  It was a bit pricey (£79) but I thought it could be an early birthday present to myself.

2. I've heard only good things about the Tweezerman tweezers and whilst in a lecture, my tutor kept banging on about them and as he's pretty hard to please in general, I thought they must be good. I picked these up at Benefit and were cheaper than any others I've seen.

3.  A re-purchase of my new favourite concealer - Collection 2000 (soon to be rebranded as COLLECTION) Lasting Perfection in shade fair 1.  It covers a multitude of sins, breakouts, freckles, dark circles and I wouldn't do my make up without it.  Only downfall - the writing on the tube all rubs off after a few uses.

4. If you're like me, YouTube has become my new TV and the Pixiwoo girls have become a firm favourite channel.  Sam released her own line of brushes called Real Techniques and received rave reviews.  They were quite hard to get hold of in the UK until this month, as they were launched in bigger Boots stores.  I picked up the Powder and Blush brushes as well as the Starter set for eyes.  I haven't used them yet but they are so soft!

5. I rarely shop in Dorothy Perkins but they were offering 25% student discount so I thought I'd have a wander.  I picked up quite a lot, including this oversized, square cut top.  I live in things like this and it will look great paired with those loafers.

6. I placed my first ever order on Missguided and it came today.  The first thing I picked was these turquoise loafers, which look almost radioactive.  They are going to be great at adding a pop of colour to otherwise dreary outfits.

7. Another of my Dorothy Perkins picks.  I bought an oversized silver triangle ring and an extremely long necklace with cross pendent.  I needed some silver pieces to go with my Links of London bracelet and hopefully my new watch (see birthday wishlist here).

8.  The main reason I went to Benefit was to get the new blush box in 'Hervana'.  The four colours swirled together are supposed to create a healthy rosy glow on the cheeks.  I'll let you know how I get on.

9. I picked up another top in Dorothy Perkins, which has aztec print all over it.  Again, it's a baggy number and will get a lot of wear.  I'll either wear this with a plain black bodycon dress and tights or with jeggings.

10.  My second purchase from Missguided was this leopard print skater dress, which I plan to wear for my birthday.  I was a bit worried it wouldn't fit as I'm top heavy, but it fits like a glove and I really like it.   It came with a black patent skinny belt, but I didn't like it so took it off.  I'll wear black tights, sky high heels, my biker jacket with this and plan to do my make up like this.  Would you like to see an OOTN?

11. While I was in Boots, practically happy dancing over the Real Techniques brushes, I noticed that all the Katy Perry lashes were in stock and I immediately knew I wanted to pick some up.  After the success of the Girls Aloud lashes, Eylure teamed up with Kitty Purry and brought out 5 different lashes.  I picked up Sweetie Pie (pink) for everyday and Oh, Honey! (yellow) for the evening.

12.  Oh look, no roots! Fresh from the salon today my roots have been bleached up! My hairdresser was pretty surprised that my hair was in "excellent" condition, which I believe I have Macadamia products to thank.  Review coming soon!

Let me know your thoughts on the new way of doing my haul posts and feel free to ask questions about what I picked up in the comments section.  Have a lovely evening!

Winter Warmers: Top 5 Jumpers

As it's fast becoming extremely cold in the UK, I thought I'd introduce a new blog-mini series which will run for four weeks.  I'll be picking a different category each week, choosing my top 5 for each, featuring various in price points (something for everyone!).  For this mini series I want YOU to get involved and submit ideas for what my next weeks winter warmers post should be on. It could be anything from best beauty products to get you through the winter or top 5 thermal leggings (idk?!)

This week I've been living in slouchy, comfortable warm jumpers so I thought this would be the perfect place to start.

1| 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

1. Topshop, £60 - Fisherman's knit jumpers are everywhere at the moment.  This Topshop one comes in a warm taupe colour, perfect with jeans and some Chelsea ankle boots.

2. H&M, £14.99 - This jumper is longer than the others I've selected (and the biggest bargain) and would look great with leggings as it covers your bum.  Team the outfit with some velvet slippers and you're good to go.

3.  Isabel Marant, £465 - The perfect winter staple, this cable knit jumper is made from the softest wool money can buy.  Pair it with a pair of jeans and some animal print pumps for a pop of print.

4.  Wildfox at Matches, £100 - Chuck this candyfloss pink jumper over the top of a plain black skater dress and tights for a slightly more girly winter time look.

5.  Dorothy Perkins, currently £22.40 (RRP £28.00) - Mustard is one of the colours to wear this season and this fisherman's knit would look perfect with some cable knit leggings to contrast.

There are my top 5 jumpers for this winter, but what would you like to see next week?  Leave your ideas in the comment box below and I'll pick the best one to feature!

I'll leave you with one of my newest YT finds latest videos - Joey Graceffa, he's pretty funny!

Lust List: New In Store

I'm pretty sure I never stop online shopping.  Even if i'm only browsing I always end up adding copious amounts of clothing to my mental wish list.  I'm currently lusting after a new season wardrobe.  I want boots, cable knits, Barbour inspired coats and stars (lots of them).  This summer has been what can only be described as a wash out and ever since the weather has become increasingly confusing, it's only made me want A/W more.

When online shopping the first part of any site I consult is the 'New In' section.  Topshop has to be my favourite for this as they update it pretty much everyday.  Enough of the babbling, here's my new season Lust List, compiled from what's new in store.

Minkpink Poncho via ASOS.com
Poncho's are back in force for this season and I'm a sucker for an aztec-esc print.

Shirt; Topshop
I love a shirt, they look great with anything - paired with jeans and heeled brogues, tucked into a denim skater skirt or just with leggings (as long as they cover your bums girls).

Tights; H&M
There's nothing nicer on a bitter day than wrapping up warm, but sometimes I feel a little mannish in all my layers.  These tights are thick and therefore warm and they are also a popular colour for this season.

Boots; Miss Selfridge
Like flip flops are a summer staple, boots are an autumn/winter staple.  I want both flat and heeled boots, so these would be a good start.

Cape; Dorothy Perkins
I want a cape after getting superhero envy last year.  Need I say anymore?

What's on your new season lust list?

OMFG: Want of the week

I always used to shop at Dorothy Perkins, but lately I found myself thinking that they were starting to designer for an older woman.  Whilst browsing online, I decided to look at Dotty P's.  It takes quite something to make me literally say 'OMFG' out-loud, Miss.Welch did just that for me....

Online exclusive; £22.00
There are no words to describe my love for Florence.  Her style is impeccable and her band, Florence and the Machine's album 'Lungs' is probably one of the only albums I could a) listen to over and over again and b) can quite happily work to without getting distracted.

This t-shirt is perfect for summer, you could pair it with vintage Levi's or jeans for a casual day time look.  This would also be a great choice if you were lucky enough to see Florence at a festival this summer.  I really think I'll have to grab this when I get paid.

They also have John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix motif tee's.  Ladies, grab them now, they are online exclusives and they wont be around long.

A couple of other online exclusives I spied were:

£18.00
The American flag motif has been seen on stars such as Rihanna and seems to be a popular choice for a casual tee this season.

£20.00
This is lovely, there really isn't anything more to say.

Dorothy Perkins is back in my good books, well and truly.

A way with birds.

With any season, accessorising an outfit is key.  This season it's all about those little peckers that sing from tree tops, forests wide.  Birds.  No, not Tweety bird, but owls and swallows.  They are soaring in all over the high street, in the form of chunky rings or statement outfit-finishing pendants.

I've always been fond of a bird accessory, I recently purchased a Swooping Swallow bracelet from DollyBowBow to go with my 'Vintage owl' necklace from Dorothy Perkins or my swallow waist belt from New Look.

Here's a couple of accessories I've seen that I like:

£5.99 Cupcake Jewels (I wouldn't mind this little tweetheart for my birthday, hint hint...)

£8.50 Freedom at Topshop
This is nice as it is a bit different to the standard bird accessories.

£8.50 Freedom at Topshop
This is the classic owl pendant, I like the fact it's broken into different body parts.

£8.50 Dorothy Perkins
Double rings and knuckledusters are a big accessory trend this season so with this ring you're killing two birds with one stone (pardon the pun).

£5.99 New Look
I thought this was really cute.  It's definitely a statement piece, you wouldn't need much more accessories with this on.

£10 Accessorize
This is one of my favourites.  I like that the bird design is different and that its got this antique gold colour to it.

What about you? Got any cool 'tweety' finds?

Oxford Street Look Out...

So after Christmas, me and my best friend are going to embark on a whole day of shopping on the only street that has it all, Oxford Street.  In preparation to this i've been 'window shopping' online to see the kinds of things I wish to purchase.

Dorothy Perkins; £65

I've been after a camel cape for a while and I really like the vintage feel buttons on this one, at £65 it's not too expensive for a piece that seems to be staying on trend for another year.

Topshop; £40.00

I fell in love with this chunky cardigan, It seems like it would be oversized and I like that in a cardigan.

Dorothy Perkins; £19.50

I'm a sucker for a dress and this Peter Pan lace collared black dress is an absolute steal at only £19.50.  I'd wear with knee highs and boots/pumps.

New Look; £24.99

I really like these wedge boots and think they'd be wearable daily.  I also like H&Ms version but they aren't currently on the site.

Topshop; £12.00

I love these knitted hair bands and think they'd keep my ears warm and cosy through this bitter winter.

There's a lot more that I want, but i've given you a taste of the kind of things I wish to purchase.  I will probably spend too much in the vintage section of Topshop...
