Birthday Wishlist

My 21st birthday is fast approaching (25th February) and with it comes the question: What would you like for your birthday?  Initially I wasn't at all excited about the big 2-1 thanks to dissertation blues, but now I've handed the buggar in and made some concrete plans, I've started counting down the days.  So I best answer the question on everyones lips.

1.  Return to Tiffany's Heart Tag with Key Pendant - As it's such a big birthday, I would like something memorable.  I received a Links bracelet for my 18th, so for my 21st I'm wishing for this Tiffany's necklace with the key charm - synonymous with the birthday.

2.  Stella by Stella McCartney Eau De Parfum - I'm almost out of the bottle I bought back in June at the airport and as it's my favourite everyday scent, I'd definitely like another bottle for my dresser.

3.  Tickets to see Viva Forever - I'm a big girl band fan, I'm off to see Girls Aloud at the beginning of March but my first love lies with the Spice Girls.  After hearing so many rave reviews and watching the ITV documentary that was on over Christmas, it's something I would definitely like to go watch.

4.  Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette - It wouldn't be right if I wasn't wishing for something beauty related.  I prefer wearing matte eyeshadows and the original Naked palette lacks in those, so I'm excited to (hopefully) try this out!

Now I've answered the question, it's back to counting down the days.

Sunday Update #3

I haven't been able to post a Sunday Update over the past couple of weeks due to Christenings and other events keeping me busy so I guess this is more than just a weekly update.

I've found myself totally sucked in by the Olympics. I'm not a sports fan usually so maybe it's because it's in our back yard or maybe I'm just getting older but I've been loving it.  My town was part of the cycle race so I took the opportunity to feel the Olympic atmosphere.  It was such a shame that mARK Cavendish didn't get gold but was amazing to see Team GB in the flesh! It's definitely Girl Power out  there but the boys are doing us proud too. Speaking of Girl Power - I cannot wait to see my Spice Girls during the Closing Ceremony tonight.  I really hope they perform a medley of all of their biggest hits!

Recently I completed a placement at More! magazine (read all about it here) and I mentioned that I was going to be featured in the magazine. After not being in the last issue, I held my breath as to whether I would make it in at all but a week on and there I am! I wrote a solution on the Friendship Fixer page - the problem being "you care about your job more than me".  Hopefully the next time I'm featured in a magazine, it will be because I write for one!

On Monday, after months of denial, I went for an eye test and found out that I needed glasses for distance use.  I knew this deep down and didn't fancy continually asking friends in lectures, "what does that say?" Me being me, I'd already been searching for frames I liked BEFORE I went for the eye test. I had Ray Bans in mind as I love my Wayfarer sunglasses that I bought in Spain.  On Wednesday I went to a couple of opticians that stocked the brand, the first had a poor selection of overpriced Ray Ban frames, but the second had a fantastic selection of the more 'fashion-y' styles.  Ellis & Thompson are an independent opticians in Cobham and if you're in the area I highly recommend them.  As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly team who quickly showed me their frame selection and there they were, the Wayfarer specs I'd been eyeing up on the web.  I call them my Mini Wayfs and I absolutely love them, what do you think?  They told me that I could collect them within the hour, which I was pretty much gobsmacked about - I expected to be told a week at least.  They were pricey as most optical glasses are but they weren't as expensive as I thought.

What have you been up to this week?

Posh Spice gives birth to two babies...

No, she hasn't had twins, she would most definitely not be able to wear her Loubs with two buns in her oven.  Victoria is now a fashion designer in her own right, where as other celebrities such as Pixie Lott, Fearne Cotton or Diana Vickers would be deemed "wannabe's" (pun intended).  Posh told WWD that she has created a new line, Victoria by Victoria Beckham, which will be cheaper than her current collection, at around £350-995.  No, this is not a diffusion line, but simply a dress collection that she wishes to sell alongside her main line in stores.  It's definitely going to be hot property as currently her collection sells at around £4-5k per piece.

Without meaning to sound like a press release, I feel this collection could give her whole line a breath of fresh air and some new clientele that perhaps couldn't afford the higher end of the price range.  The dresses are inspired by a cartoon character, Emily the Strange and the collection is said to feature 60s shapes with vibrant colours.

As a massive Spice Girls fan, I am more than excited to see the collection.  What do you think of Posh's latest idea?  I think she should take maternity leave... after all she is due Monday...

OOTD: Is it Spring or Winter? Weatherman, make up your mind!

I haven't done an outfit of the day for a while, so I thought I'd bring you one today.  I stood in front on my wardrobe, peering back and fourth from my bedroom window thinking, "What on earth should I wear today?!"  It has been one of those stupid spring days which starts off like a winter morning and chirps up after lunch.

Jumper:  H&M
Dress:  H&M
Tights:  Primark
Necklace:  Primark
Bracelets: Links of London, DollyBowBow, H&M and Paris

I opted for a thin jumper over my LBD to keep me warm.  I absolutely adore this necklace, and unbelievably it was a Primark find!  I am getting my hair feathered next week just to further my love of feathers!  I'm thinking brown ones to contrast with my blonde locks in a natural way?  I will probably also get some 'blonde' ones put in too.

We went out on the streets of Epsom today to film vox pops for a practice broadcast video.  The question on our lips was, 'what is your biggest fashion faux pas?'

This could be one of mine, a yellow tee and nappy combo.  Definitely a look I couldn't rock now!  I am however wearing some rather cute fake wayfarers.   Or maybe mine was the Spice Girls platform soled trainers... I wore those everywhere.

So, what's yours?
