Take a picture, it might last longer.

I started back at university today and we begun the semester with an introduction to photography lecture.  I've come to find new photographers that I love because of this lecture, so here are a few of my favourites, old and new.

Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott

I love these two, they shoot a lot for LOVE magazine and this particular image has some gorgeous colouring.  It now reminds me of Rihanna's video for 'Only Girl'.

Alasdair McLellan

Another photographer who shoots for LOVE magazine.  I love this picture of Abbey Clancy, it's classy, something you wouldn't think of a WAG.

Terry Richardson

I love this guys photo blog, he really captures great images of famous models or celebrities in general.  I love this picture of Marc Jacobs, it just speaks volumes about his relationship with Louis Vuitton, as well as a brilliant ad campaign.

Juergen Teller

Juergen's photo's aren't exactly the most beautiful, but they get a natural message across.  He works a lot with Marc Jacobs and I like this ad campaign featuring Posh.  I couldn't find a decent size image of the one with her feet hanging out the bag.

Helmut Newton

Isaac was a genius in mathematics, english and science but Helmut was a genius with his composition. To me, this shows women in a powerful light, the mans expression shows he is in the women's debt.

Louise Dahl-Wolfe

Paris, Dior and dogs.  Need I say more? I love the composition and the black and white makes the photo that much more classical.

Glamour Puss

When I first saw the new BVLGARI ad campaign featuring actress Julianne Moore my first thought was 'how cute are those cubs?!'  Looking over the campaign again I see a lot more than lion cubs but the luxury they connote, if you were buying a cat wouldn't you want the crème de la crème of cats? To me the ad campaign is all about no settling for second best and I feel it works well.  Stunning.
