It's all in the accessories.

It's pay day today, which has only got me lusting all things new and shiny.  I've been a jewellery mood recently and this evening i've been trawling the endless online boutiques.  My favourites by far are Regal Rose, Junk Jewels, Temporary:Secretary and DollyBowBow.  I thought I'd show you what's in my baskets currently.

I've had a thing for these little hands lately, and definitely feel that the silver ring could be a nice addition to my costume jewellery.

I've been after a long peace sign necklace for a while now, i'm starting to favour longer chains to shorter ones now, not entirely sure why!

Silver Peace Friendship Bracelet; £6.00

I have a bit of a thing for peace signs at the moment (bet you couldn't tell).  I think it's what they represent more than anything else.

If you remember back a month or two, I was obsessing over birds, and I still think they are pretty cute when it comes to accessories.  These types of bracelets are best layered together and their coloured 'chains' make for easy styling with different outfits.

Although this is out of stock at the moment, I still like it.  Slightly different to the ring featured above, it would be quite cool layered with other bracelets.

I've been looking for a massive bow for my hair for a while.  I would only wear it with a top bun for decoration.  I like the colour, it's a bit different from the bog standard black.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love the Duchess of Cambridge.  This is more of a 'poke fun at self' choice, but seeing as i'm known as Kate in the office, thought it was pretty appropriate.

I featured these a while back, and I just love them.  I'm prone to play with my necklaces so this would be  a whole new world of amusement.   

Those are my basket of goodies, but what I need help with is finding a reasonably priced replica of this necklace:

How the devil are ya?!

What a week it's been!  As with many bloggers out there, I've experienced problems with logging in, but touch wood that's all fixed now as I'm finally logged back in.  I thought I'd catch you up on my past week, a couple of things I've been loving as well as just general chit chat.  I have a million blog ideas, but felt odd just bombarding you with them straight off.

So first of all, I finished my first year of university this Thursday.  If you aren't familiar with what I study, I major in Fashion Journalism.  It's been an intense first year and I'm extremely impressed with the work I've managed to produce.  I have a feeling (and because a lecturer told a few of us we have pretty much a hand in a week) that next year is going to be tough, but bring it on!  Here's my final piece of work, which was the efforts of a group of five and we had to make and edit a 3 minute topical fashion or music film. Well we pulled together and chose a theme with both topics in mind, and I think we were all proud of what we achieved.

I've of course, been online 'screen' shopping, trying to find some inspiration for when I have a bit of cash.  At the moment i'm faced with the battle of the beige/terracotta blazer:

Rachel Furner, friend and musician uploaded a video of the gig I went to, to interview her.  I was unaware they were filming at the time, but there are a few shots of us chatting which crept into the video.  If you like her, then here's the video.  Love the editing at the end as well!

This week I've been trialling a new Avon moisturiser, which isn't out until next month.  It's called Solutions: Perfect Tone (or something like that..)  It's worked perfectly for my skin and hasn't as yet, broken me out.  Full review coming up soon. 

So that's a round up of my week without blogging.  If i'm honest, I was slightly lost without my blog these past few days.  Normal blogging to resume (fingers crossed) tomorrow.  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Recently I posted my Rachel Furner interview for Glamour.  What I didn't mention that I had requested some great photos of Rachel from a photographer called Steph Dray.  Unfortunately, due to silly deadlines I didn't get the pictures in time but I still wanted to use these for my portfolio, so I decided to show you the alternative spread.

Little Miss Stripe | I Am Tich Interview

I've been lacking on the blogging side so I apologise.  I have however been working hard on my last interviewing brief which was a long interview with someone of your choice.  I mentioned that I had interviewed Rachel Furner, a new music artist and a lovely girl too, so here it is, the final laid out copy in the style of Glamour!

It's a hard life being a Fashion Journalism student.  My university work took me to a gig last night where one of my favourite artists was playing.  You may have heard me mention her, the lovely Rachel Furner.  Now, I know what you're thinking, what kind of work could I possibly have been doing at a gig?!  Well apart from enjoying the music, I interviewed the lovely lady herself to use for my 'Long Interview Brief'.

Enough of the boring Uni talk.  I'm going to tell you a bit about the evenings events, but wont be giving too much away as all will be revealed in an interview piece!

First off, it was in a clothes store of all places, but it really worked.  There was a great atmosphere of around 150 people all drinking Gaymers or Becks.  There were two acts before Rachel came on, although her presence was felt with her striped keyboard, later named 'Claire' in the stage area.  The Stow were on first, who my best friend and I agreed were a mixture of Example meets The Noisettes.  Then Bright Light Bright Light came on, but I wasn't too keen on them.

Rachel was last on and I think most awaited.  She opened up with Feng Shui and told the crowd to go crazy.  In tow were her two boys, Bo on drums and Orlando on guitar - they are like a little family.  

She continued her set singing Unravel, Like Stars and two new songs Glitter and End Of The World. 

It was a great gig, and a little overwhelming that someone tiny could have such a big voice.  She scuttled off after telling me she'd return.  I then was grabbed by her manager, Luke to go interview her.  She was just as lovely as every other time I've chatted with her.  

I knew she'd be great to interview, she's like a giant bouncy ball full of energy and I'm extremely inspired to write this piece up!

I Spy! Volumising Hair Products

These products have been out for a while now, and until Monday, I had only tried three out of the whole line.  Umberto Giannini have developed a line called 'Glam Hair' - "Every glamour vamp knows that big hair oozes sex appeal".  The most popular product is probably the 'Backcomb in a Bottle', which i've tried and love quite a bit.  

Today I want to talk to you about the most amazing hair product in the world, the 'Sex Bomb Massive Mousse'.  Lately, I've been trying to get a bit more oomph in my hair, and I ran out of the 'Rock n Roll Extreme' hairspray which is equally as amazing.  I popped into boots where the range was on 2 for £7.50 and decided that i'd try the mousse out.  It says to scrunch into the roots and then blow dry, which I did, turning my head upside down to help the volume out, and when I came back up, my hair looked exactly as the top image does, volume to the max.  I really do rate this product, and I will definitely be rebuying. The products also smell incredible.  

This is the kind of body you can achieve.  I used the sex bomb mousse and the rock n roll hair spray!

General chitta chatta'

I've just completed writing up my blog on a 3rd year - I promise to reveal who that is tomorrow! I thought I'd do a bit of a chit chat blog, fill you in on some amazing discoveries/happenings.

Firstly, one of my favourite boutiques, DollyBowBow, plans to launch her S/S collection in a week or so and we got a sneak preview today.

It's gorgeous and this isn't even all of it!  I have my eye on the ring, scissor necklace and the anchor necklace as well as the dolly bow!

In other news, I attended a meeting yesterday to volunteer for the British Heart Foundation's Mending Broken Hearts Appeal, which is a catwalk show.  I have been appointed head of Press and Promotion which sounds like an exciting challenge.  The event in itself is a genius idea - designers from my university will buy an item of clothing from a BHF charity shop and re-design to make it a bespoke garment.  This will then be modelled on the catwalk and then auctioned after.  I'm hoping to get some local businesses in on the cause.  

I have talked about this lovely girl many a time in blogs.  She's a friend of mine with an amazing voice and I'm going to be interviewing her at a gig on the 30th for my final interview brief! I'm really excited, it's my first gig of the years and I always have an amazing time with Rachel!  Check out a demo of her album track - 'Like Stars' here:

I have also bagged the lovely designer Sara Bro for my designer profile (another university brief).  I fell in love with her designs and I'm really looking forward to meeting up with her - she's just got back from Paris (it's alright for some!)

I also received an email earlier about an interview for an editorial internship, so there are some exciting things on the cards for myself.  What has this week brought for my lovely followers? 

Theres a new babe on the scene... and she's pretty stripey!

The year of 2011 may see the return of the 20's flapper dresses (thank god for Marc Jacobs) but it also sees the year of the stripe.  Rachel Furner has been all over the country this summer showcasing her talents at all the british music festivals as well as supporting Lipsy's designer, Pixie Lott. You'll usually find her with her team mates Orlando Sheppard, Bo Morgan, sister Kat Furner and of course her infamous stripey keyboard.

Known for her beautiful voice, this girl also has an individual style which she likes to think shows off her 'happy-go-lucky' personality.  When on stage she tends to wear killer heels, stripey tights, a floral/tartan dress and an arm full of bracelets.  People may be thinking, how on earth does that all go together, as it shouldn't - but oddly it does.

If you enjoy piano driven pop music then keep an eye out for Rachel next year.  Her first single 'No Logic In Love' is due out early 2011.
