Tested: Neutrogena Multi-Defence Daily Moisturiser - Week Four

This is my final post on the Neutrogena Multi-Defence Daily Moisturiser, so this will be a full review of the past month.  

First off here are my 'doctor' notes gathered from the past month:

Overall notes:

- Skin looks healthy and dewy opposed to oily.

- Skin feels refreshed and replenished on each application.

- Flakes off if make up applied to soon after application.

- Product doesn't cause breakout.

- Skin has become a lot less red.

- Compatible with with other skin products.

I have nothing to add to this, although if you have oily skin like myself, I would recommend using a mattifying foundation to help keep the 'sweaty' look at bay.  I hate looking dull in the S/S months - your skin should glow, so I have come to find that with my oily skin type that if you use a mattifying moisturiser in the places which get extremely oily it really helps.  I'm going to stop rambling and get on with the review.  

Overall, this is a great skin product.  One pump is just the right amount to moisturise your entire face and neck.  I've only used a third of the bottle, so it should last me another two months with continued religious use.  It is £7.95 a bottle which I think is a tad overpriced.  I managed to get mine on a special introductory price for £4.99 which I think is much better.  In terms of what the product is meant to do, i've noticed a dramatic difference in my skin tone - it is far less red than it was a month ago. 

The only real problem I faced with this product was the flakey skin.  When you're busy going to work or university, you don't have time to allow a moisturiser to soak in for a good hour before applying make up.  It doesn't seem to happen so much if you use a primer on top.

It's that time again, the penultimate week of my trial.  I haven't really got any more notes to add other than my skin seems to have really benefitted from using this product.  This week I decided to change my routine up and started using my MAC Prep + Prime Skin Visage make up primer over the top as well as adding in the Clinique 'All About Eyes' cream (I managed to get hold of the Glamour magazine with it on).  I found using these products over the top didn't cause the flaking I endured during the first week, like I had anticipated.  Instead it seemed that my skin stayed moisturised a lot longer.  I also feel like this week in particular my skin looks a lot less red.

Another week has passed on the Neutrogena Multi-Defence moisturiser.  Not a lot of change this week, my skin still feels refreshed and replenished after application.  To stop the flaking affect, I have used about 15-30 minutes before applying my make up.  

After using it for two weeks, it has not caused a break out on my skin which is good.  I did notice that my forehead was slightly dry this morning and as I applied it seamlessly disappeared.

Last weeks notes:

- On first appliance my skin felt refreshed and replenished.  

I've been using this product religiously for the past week and I have noticed some results.  My skin feels really moisturised and far less dry around my cheeks and forehead.  I'm still getting that refreshed feel on each application.  

I have noticed that if I use it as a primer for foundation that it flakes off whilst applying the make up, which is disgusting.  I tend to use it as soon as I get up, to allow it to properly sink in before applying make up, that way avoiding the flakey effect.  

I can get quite oily skin at times so when applying make up, I like to look more matte.  I've found with this moisturiser that I get the best of both worlds.  When applying make up, I get a nice dewy look opposed to the oil slick I have endured before.

Testing: Neutrogena Multi-Defence Daily Moisturiser

I don't know about you, but my skin detests all kinds of weather.  Winter dries my skin out where as summer makes me skin too moist and therefore oily.  Well according to Neutrogena, we no longer have to fear.  They've created the Multi-Defence daily moisturiser (along with wipes, night creams and facial washes) which is supposed to help support your skin from the sun, heat, cold, pollution and wind.  It comes in three types, Dry and sensitive skin, Normal to combination skin and the one I opted for - All skin types.  

I was going to grab this from Boots on Friday, but whilst out food shopping in Tesco's (can't keep away from that place) I spied this on the shelf for an uber cheap £4.99 (£4.48 lesser discount).  I've decided to trial it for a month and give it a proper review, I'll update weekly and let you know my verdict.

I put it on when I came home, it is in a pump bottle which was a tad squeaky when trying to pump the product.  It comes out an off-white colour and it is extremely light.  

One pump was more than enough to smoother my face.  My skin felt refreshed after applying and slightly softer, but not as soft as it would be if I had used palmers cocoa butter.  Neutrogena suggest that you use it before applying make-up, almost like a primer or you can wear alone.  I've applied it alone as i'm trying to let my skin breathe before applying the going out make up Friday night.
