Rimmel Salon Pro Nail Colour: The Kate Collection

Rimmel are currently the high street brand to beat when it comes to product launches.  Earlier this year they launched their popular Apocalips, not to mention their Scandaleyes Waterproof Khol Kajal liners, Kate Collection Matte lipsticks and now the new Salon Pro by Kate range.  The collection features 10 new shades, all picked by Mossy and there are some really gorgeous colours.  These had been on my radar for a while and I'd always look out for them whenever I popped into Boots or Superdrug.  I picked up Soul Session and Jazz Funk, although I have since gone back and purchased Rhythm & Blues and will probably buy some more in the near future.

Rimmel claim that you can get up to 10 days chip free, thanks to the added Lycra in the formula. Whilst these polishes definitely last longer than some of my more expensive picks (I'm looking at you Chanel), I find they last around 4-6 days before chipping, depending on what I'm doing.  This is still pretty impressive for me, as I usually change up my nails quite often.  The Salon Pro Nail Colours also come with a wide brush, making application super easy, usually only needing one swipe per nail.  The product is pretty opaque and I very rarely go back in for a second coat, which is great if you're as impatient as I am when it comes to waiting for your talons to dry.

As I previously mentioned, there are some great colour choices including gorgeous nudes (Soul Session has now replaced my beloved Models Own Pink Beige), Summer brights (Jazz Funk, Brit Pop and Hip Hop), a classic red (Classical Red) as well as some darker colours which would be perfect for the autumn (Rhythm & Blues and Punk Rock).  At £4.49 these aren't going to break the bank and with such amazing quality and colours, I'm not sure if I will be tempted by other brands for a while. Another triumphant launch, Rimmel.

Have you bought any of the Kate Moss Salon Pro Nail Colours?

Perfect for Fall: Rimmel Kate Collection Matte Lipstick in 107

They say you know, when you know and as soon as I saw this lipstick staring at me in Boots, I knew this was the one.  For the past two years I have been searching for the perfect wine or burgundy colour for my lips. I'd swatched Revlon's Black Cherry and found it too dark and some other similar lipsticks looked perfect in the bullet, but never paid off when swatched.  I'd seen this shade on someone in a YouTube and mentally added it to my wishlist.  I picked it up today and just couldn't wait to blog about it as soon as I tried it.

From the Kate Matte Collection for Rimmel London, I picked up shade #107. Its a gorgeous matte wine colour, although I am wearing lip balm underneath which is why it appears glossy.  It's a very creamy, not at all drying, formula and is extremely pigmented, meaning that one or two applications is needed for the desired effect. It's the perfect shade for autumn and one I know I will enjoy using for a long time.

What's your go to fall lipstick?

Kate Moss TopShop Final Collection Launch A/W 2010

Today, Monday November 1st saw a mark in fashion history.  Kate Moss launched her 14th and final collection for TopShop.  I was lucky enough to be at the launch party in TopShops flagship store on Oxford Street.

I arrived and stood in the queue from around half 5 and my friends and I were towards the front end of the queue.  The launch began at 7pm, press were everywhere and owner of TopShop Phillip Green and his daughter Chloe were also in show.

Before Kate arrived the first 100 guests in the queue (myself included) were given yellow wristbands and would be the first people in the country to browse Moss' new line.  Little did we know we'd also be browsing with the designer herself.  It was manic, as soon as we were let in everyone made a beeline for Kate Moss.  I managed to get some pictures of the celebrity designer, although they were rather blurry as i was being knocked back and forth, everyone trying to get as close as possible.

Kate left after about 20 minutes of trying jackets on and putting them back on the rack (to which was nearly the cause of my death as girls around me dived to get the jacket Moss had worn).  The clothes clearly show their 70's influence with floral day dresses, velvet shorts and an overall hippy aesthetic.  I for one would love several pieces from her collection, being an avid floral fan, if i had the cash to flash.

Here are a few of my favourites from her collection:
